1 The Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor ranking, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on
in-person and telephone due diligence meetings and a ranking algorithm that includes: client
retention, industry experience, review of compliance records, firm nominations; and
quantitative criteria, including: assets under management and revenue generated for their
firms. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of
audited data. Neither Forbes nor SHOOK Research receives a fee in exchange for rankings.
2Five Star Wealth Management is an award based on 10 objective criteria associated with
providing quality services to clients such as credentials, experience, and assets under
management among other factors. Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or
placed on the final list of 2013-2023 Five Star Wealth Managers.
3Registered Rep magazine's Top 100 Independent B/D Advisors list is based on assets under
management.
4Advisors are ranked strictly by assets under management, though 60 percent of those assets
must belong to retail, as opposed to institutional, clients. If the advisor is a member of a team,
he must be the founder or leader of that team.
5Research Magazine, “The Winner's Circle 2008” - The Winner's Circle is an organization
independent of the firms involved and does not receive compensation from the over 100
participating firms or its affiliates, financial advisors or the media in exchange for ranking
purposes. The Winner's Circle team vetted each nominated advisor through a host of
quantitative and qualitative criteria, including assets managed, revenues, experience levels,
compliance records, discussions with management and more. Portfolio performance is not a
criteria. The Winner's Circle focuses on customer satisfaction and client retention.
